The court appeal
How can you help now?
An appeal to the Commissioner's decision to eliminate SPOC and the issue of WMI's fitness to operate a landfill in our community would be called an Article 78. This action would take 6 months to complete from the time it's filed  and has a 30 - 50% chance of winning.
Regardless of whether or not we proceed with the Article 78 Civil action, SPOC needs to build up it's "War Chest".
This battle is far from over. We will continue to need money for postage. copy making, travel cost incurred by our Attorney in the commission of our business, etc.
Send your donations to: SPOC, Inc.

THE OBVIOUS BENEFITS
A clear message to D.E.C,  Waste Mgt. and the Town  Board that we are unwavering in our commitment to stop Waste Mgt.  from any landfilling in OUR community.
In-depth information of Waste Management's violations would be put on the record during the appeals court process.  The Albion Town Board would also use this information in their review of the application.
The ONLY NEGATIVE IMPACT
The costs associated with this civil action would be handled by our attorney. The legal fees would be approximately $5000. This means that we would have to solicit $100 - 150 donations from many SPOC members and friends  instead of the usual $25.00.
